Fragen zu Win2PDF

Win2PDF supports PDF/A-1b. Win2PDF does not currently support the newer PDF/A-2 standard. It might be possible to support PDF/A-2b, but not PDF/A-2a.

For Windows 7, open the "Devices and Printers" Window, click once on the Win2PDF icon to highlight it, and then choose "Print Server Properties" from the toolbar of the "Devices and Printers" menu.
The rest of the instructions are the same as for Windows XP.

Wenn die PDF Datei viele Bilder enthält, können Sie versuchen die Auflösung zu ändern. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass dabei die Qualität der PDF Datei nicht zu sehr leidet.
Eine andere Möglichkeit könnte sein, die Auflösung oder Qualität der Bilder gleich in dem Quelldokument zu verringern.

Dane Prairie wünscht, dass deren Ticketsystem verwendet wird. Damit wird die schnellste Bearbeitung sichergestellt.

This is actually a behavior of Excel and not something directly related to Win2PDF.

If you are creating a PDF file from an Excel workbook that contains multiple worksheets, selecting the "Entire workbook" option from the Excel print dialog will create a separate PDF file for each worksheet. If you would like to have all worksheets in a single PDF file, you can select multiple worksheets before printing to the Win2PDF printer.

You can select multiple worksheets by holding down the "shift" or "control" key while clicking on the sheet tab. Select the "Print..." command from the "File" menu and make sure "Active sheet(s)" is enabled in the Excel print dialog. More information on selecting multiple worksheets is available at:

If the workbook contains sheets with differing page sizes, Excel will also split the print into separate print jobs, which would require the files to be saved separately, or you could use the 'append' function to combine them into a single PDF. Alternatively, if you select "print to file" from the Excel print dialog all worksheets will be created in a single PDF file. Using this option, it will bypass the normal Win2PDF file save dialog, so you will have to specify the entire path to save the file (e.g., "C:\My Documents\MyDOC.PDF")

nicht hilft, verwenden Sie das Win2PDF Cleanup Utility, um das System zu bereinigen. Bitte führen Sie folgende Schritte durch:

- Rechner booten (Neustart unbedingt erforderlich)
- Win2PDF wieder installieren und Lizenzcode eingeben.

Es werden die Client Lizenzen benötigt. Die Anzahl richtet sich nach der Anzahl der Benutzer, die für den Drucker freigeschaltet sind.

Dane Prairie antwortet zu dem Thema:

If they are just installing as a network printer (not terminal services), then our standard edition licensing applies. The standard edition of Win2PDF is installed on the print server, and then it is shared to the client PC's. When the client PC's connect to the shared printer, they will be prompted to input a registration code, which will register that client permanently. If the server does not need to use the Win2PDF printer and is just 'hosting' the printer resource, it does not require a license.

Also, the licensing is 'per client', not 'simultaneous' connections. If 8 clients have access to Win2PDF, they would need 8 licenses.

Allerdings ist der Einsatz aufgrund der enormen Anzahl an möglichen Kombinationen derart komplex geworden, dass der Hersteller die Nutzung als Netzwerkdrucker nicht mehr supportet und sagt:

... as I've mentioned in the past, we recommend and officially support Win2PDF as a local printer (deployed with the silent install options). Microsoft simply has too many different server and client operating systems (with service packs), and different x32/x64 CPU architectures, so we cannot guarantee Win2PDF will work in a shared printer environment. We have spent a lot of time trouble-shooting problems that are specific to Microsoft OS versions, and we can't support the hundreds of possible combinations going forward. They are free to try deploying this way, but our recommended and supported method is to push the print driver local to each desktop/laptop PC.

There are three options:

1)
If the output PDF file can always have the same name, you can create a Windows port that specifies the name. To create a file name port:

Open the printers folder under Start > Settings > Printers
Right click on Win2PDF and select "Properties"
Select the "Ports" tab
Click on the "Add Port..." button
Under "Available Printer Ports" select "Local Port" and then click the "New Port" button.
Under "Enter a port name:" type in the full path name to the PDF file that you would like to be created. For example, you could type "c:my.pdf" Click OK
You should be back at the "Ports" tab of the "Properties" dialog. The file name that you entered in step 6 should display under "port." Click the check box for the port filename, and then click "OK" or "Apply"
Printing to Win2PDF will now create a PDF file using the name that you picked without prompting.

2)
If you are a software developer using Visual Basic or a similar language, you can control the output file name by adding an entry to the Windows registry. Win2PDF looks for a string registry value (REG_SZ) named "PDFFileName" at the following locations and in the following order:

The "PDFFileName" value should be set to the full path name of the PDF file, and may contain a single asterisk character '*' to specify a wildcard. If "PDFFileName" does not contain a wildcard '*' character, the "PDFFileName" entry is removed from the registry after the PDF file is created and you must add the "PDFFileName" each time you print. Otherwise, the '*' character is replaced with a sequential number so that PDF files are never overwritten. If the "PDFFileName" entry does not exist in the registry, the user will be prompted to enter a file name.

From Visual Basic, you can set the output file name using the following code sample: SaveSetting "Dane Prairie Systems", "Win2PDF", "PDFFileName", filename Where the filename parameter is the full path name for the PDF file. If the "PDFFileName" parameter does not contain a wildcard '*' character, you must call SaveSetting each time you print.

3)
If you are a software developer and are developing an application that uses Win2PDF, you can also control the output filename using the standard Win32 API. To specify the file name you need to use the Microsoft defined DOCINFO structure and the StartDoc function. Set the lpszOutput field of the DOCINFO structure to the fully qualified path name of the file, and then pass the DOCINFO structure to the Win32 StartDoc function. Using this method, each file can be created using a unique name.

In der Registry kann man die Vergabe der Dateinamen umstellen. Bitte schauen Sie in der Hilfedatei nach, dort ist die Verwendung beschrieben. Der User Key lautet:

Einige Formate sind vordefiniert. Weitere benutzerdefinierte Formate können unter Systemsteuerung -> Drucker -> Menü Datei -> Servereigenschaften erstellt werden.
